How the estimate works
A deposit guarantee replaces the blocked bank account with an insurance you pay for: the premium sits in a documented 4–6% band of the deposit per year, and those payments are never refunded — unlike the blocked account, which is returned in full at move-out. The calculator applies exactly that band to your numbers.
